Watches Part 1

Being properly detailed is one of the essentials to having great style. Keep in mind that detailing you clothes is a whole package, but before we get in to deep lets start with the basics. Which is owning a decent watch. A watch that will make a Billionaire listen to you( I am not saying get a Rolex or Patek Philippe). Well if you can afford it than why not.

They say ''a proper watch can take you places'' and I totally agree. A man who pays attention to detail, is a man with great style. One of the items that i feel should go to my Dapper collection is Daniel Wellington watches. Swiss made but inspired by  British Isles, this brand aims to be part of the preppy lifestyle. When you think of Preppy and you think of a watch that will match you outfit, you think of Daniel Wellington.

This is just a timeless piece of art. Elegant nautical spirit. When it comes to Spring/Summer watches I give DW 10 out of 10. The ultra-thin 6 mm watch is the epitome of Spring/Summer watches, the removable NATO straps makes it the Spring/Summer essential watch because of the combination of the colours found on the straps. Please don't get me wrong and think that I said that DW watches are for Spring/Summer only,NO. The straps also come in leather which can be perfect for Winter and Summer. As a Dapper Gamer I always try to buy an item that will allow me to wear it with whatever i want to wear it with, and with this watch i can do exactly that. To all you Dapper Gamers who are serious about owning  elegant time pieces, than this is the watch for you.

Autumn Style Guide

August is here gentlemen and i hope you are preparing for spring, but before you start thinking about spring. Remember that it's still Autumn and you need to keep warm because August is very windy and dusty. So don't be fooled by our blazing sun and think that its Spring yet. The last thing you would want is to go out not wearing warm clothing and looking like a bimbo on a windy day. Here are some inspirations for this Autumn by your caring Dapper Friend.

Always wear warm clothes and top it of with a hat or a cap to prevent  Autumns sun rays.

caps and hats are timeless, you just need to get them right on your outfits.

Suits in Soweto Part 1

Suits in Soweto Part 1

Soweto has one of the biggest history in the world, even though the history is about fighting for freedom. Personally i feel that a lot of things weren't covered about this amazing township. Great things came out of Soweto. Never mind the wars and deaths, what about the style that people from Soweto have. Style has always been something that Sowetans love, its how we express ourselves. We come from the worst conditions but you wouldn't say because of how we carry ourselves.
                                          Soweto, Protea North

Its part of our culture to be bespoke, as a kid I have always looked up to the stylish Mkhulu's(Grand dad's). These old men have been the core source of me being a Dapper Gamer. I loved how they looked, how they had ambition. Even when they tried to degrade them they soldiered on in being great leaders and fathers. One of the the most bespoke people who contributed in Soweto uprising is the late Nelson Mandela. he style was so simple and sharp. One thing about being stylish is you have to realize that you need to keep it simple, and my late president was the epitome of a Dapper Gamer. lets reflect on his great sense of style.

Soweto, Orlando West (Phefeni) at his house.

Tata was so passionate about his vision of a free and democratic South Africa, you could see by the way he dressed and how he addressed people.

Nelson Mandela and his Ex wife Winnie Mandela

Clothes don't make a man,but it can definitely make a woman's day if worn properly. a true Dapper Gamer cares about the people around him and his surroundings.

                                                   The Mandela resident

For me Tata was a true Dapper Gamer not only because of his sense of style but for his determination in everything that he did. He wasn't the only one who fought for freedom but he was a true leader to the people he led,and he changed peoples lives for the better through his vision of a liberated country. He could have fought fire with fire but he didn't, in fact he preached about sharing with the enemy. Now that s what we call a Dapper Gamer, take notes Gentlemen.

In our townships there will be that one guy who will be known for his sense of style. He is not afraid of being different, they call him vintage and he calls it being a DapperGamer. Dapper meaning tidy, spruce, chic, and elegant, be suited and well groomed. Being a DapperGamer is not only about the clothes you wear. It’s also about acknowledging other people, by showing them respect and manners. A dapper gamer is a gentlemen that cares about people and his surroundings, because it’s pointless to look good but you have a bad attitude and your surroundings are dirty. It’s not about the clothes, it’s about the lifestyle we live as dapper gamers. This is the lifestyle that we live day in day out. As a DapperGamer myself, I believe in consistency. This is very important because is monitors your style and you attitude towards people around you.
